A Dermatologist is concerned with all aspects of disease of the skin, with the skin and its attachments (hair and nails) and the mucous membranes (inside the mouth). The variety of diseases dealt with is extremely large and includes diagnosis and treatment of tumors, moles, cancer of the skin, allergic conditions of the skin, infections and the response of the skin to irritants (especially important in dealing with industrial related problems). The Dermatologist may deal with things as common as warts and acne or as unusual as manifestations in the skin of hard to diagnose systemic disease.
